Fireside chat

Well, I don't do these actual "sit down and chat" posts that often, so I thought it might be time. Things have been a tad frustrating at the ol' website o' love for the past few weeks, and it seemed when one little crisis had finally blown over a new one would happily plop right in its place.

At the moment I'm listening to the downward spiral (in it's Dolby surround glory) and just taking a couple moments before plowing forward in an edit/rewrite of "Death Comes to the Happy Acres Mobile Home Community Park" (which appeared a while back on the ol' Fiction page...) It's hard to believe how old the story actually is. I remember when I wrote it but it doesn't seem like it should be as long ago as it has (although, rereading parts of it, it definitely does seem to be an "early" work...) In other words, for all you kids out there let me assure you, getting older does pretty much suck, although certain bits of experience and wisdom do tend to counteract the overall suckiness of the situation.

So it's been an uphill climb on the Features front lately and I do apologize for the lack of updates (I'd apologize more if you'd all buy more goodies from the store--see that? That was sly guilt-based advertising...) rest assured it's not for lack of effort on my part. Part of the situation is a job-related thing that doesn't allow me near the flexibility to pursue some of these as I should like. No excuses though and I'll continue to redouble my efforts.

On a side note, anyone else notice that finally Sci-Fi picked up the new Dr Who's? Good times.

Happily, Opening Day is only a week and change away so I get to watch the reigning NL Central champs break in their new ballpark. Huzzah!

Also, there's a little Platypus Man/Joe/NEP project that'll be gracing the website soon. It'll be a kick, just working out the last kinks on it now.

Well, I'm glad we had this talk. Now tuck your shirt in and comb your hair.
